trouble finding new cap rotor and points
Original cap I ordered as well as rotor and points do not fit...maybe it is an 009 but not sure....

the cap serial #s are 1235 522 056 rotor 1234 33 2214 made in germany

Will is definately a great resource. He will need to know your distributor type though. It should be stamped into the distributor body or on a metal plate rivitted to the distributor. A cast iron body (usually black) it probably a Bosch 022 and should have a metal tag for the number. If it has a vacuum unit on it, it is a Bosch 061. If it is neither of these it is probably a Bosch 050, 031, or 009. These numbers are the last three numbers of the model type (0231 129 022)
There are others that are non-Bosch that could be in there also. (Mallory, RSR0012) Good luck. If you can't find the number, a picture would probably help.

Thx...It is an 009 I think...I got the parts from Jbugs....I want to get a better distributor ...any suggestions?

There are a couple 031 on the Samba right now at a good price. 022's are hard to find reasonably priced. The RSR0012 is available through Will (mentioned above). An 061 has the same advance as the 031, but has the vacuum which I think can be plugged. From there you'd probably go to the 050 and then the 009.
