Are These 912E Calipers?
I have a set of front brake calipers that I got with a bunch of other 912E spares I bought and I'd like to offer them For Sale to forum members but I want to make sure they are what I was told.
One one side the say: ATE on the left P on the top 31 on the right of one 28 on the right of the other On the other side they say: ATE P 72 on one ATE P 67 on the other Jack ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I can't tell you from the numbers you posted, but 912e calipers are for non-vented rotors and it looks like if you pushed those pads back into place that spacing wouldn't be wide enough to fit a vented rotor through there. You will also want to measure the bolt spacing for mounting to the strut. In addition to 912e they could be early non-vented calipers from a SWB car. I know it's not a definitive answer, but hopefully it gets you moving in the right direction.

Yes, I believe those are likely 912E rear calipers. Definitely rear calipers, and the lack of a spacer does indicate non-vented rotors. They could fit any rear non-vented rotors from 1968 or 1969 and later.

912E Calipers
I cleaned up one of each for pix.
Were either of them alloy? these are definitely steel. Jack ![]() ![]() |

The 912E's all had steel calipers and non-vented rotors. Same as the early 911's. They seem to work very well for the weight of the 912E. I have had mine on track at Putnam Park, and Mid Ohio with no fade.
