I thought it would be interesting to see what year of 912 is the most popular and to put a car with the names of the frequent posters.
I really am pleased with our 1976 912e but I have nothing to compare it to it is my first and last Porsche. |

Hello,
While we're on the numbers thing I wonder how many women are using this site, for that matter the 911, 944 or whatever Pelican site. I can't recall ever being aware I was reading or visiting with a female Porsche person here. I'm sure there must be some....anybody know one? Cheers, Chas Oh yea, 1969. 912 coupe, sunroof, gun metal grey metallic, 16" Boxster Alloy wheels, 205x55x16 Potenza RE730 tires, I'm rebuilding the interior this winter, I plan either black or biege leather. 911 seats Last edited by C. Fun idea! I voted for my 69 912 #23078 as it was my long sought after car. It's a color that grows on you - Bahama Yellow (#6805) in it's original paint - and has a well-documented history. In the 5 inches of records, which span the original order form with options to the delivery slip in Germany to the receipt of delivery slip in Portland and all repairs to date, it's all there. Well loved but the Pacific Northwest is still hard on 912's. Repairs (front suspension) are not easily noticed unless you know. It's stock but as Solex's and 356 parts go through the roof, it may change.
My 76 912E #86 is even more fun these days as the 69 is down for repairs and tinkering. It's black on black with a sunroof, only 1 inch of records but all PO's were PCA. I ran it to Parker, Arizona and it went as fast as the local sheriff allows I had a lot of input from 912 board members that went into deciding on the 912E and now I wouldn't trade either one. Boxster wheels
Hey,
No pictures at the moment but I put 6" Wheels all around, big butt I quess, factory flares on a 69, in the rear I bet I could of got away with 7s but it was borderline they would rub, that wouldn't be very nice. Oh yea, I needed spacers, 1/2" or 12mm. I got the multi colored center hubs, very chic but pricey, and extremely un-stock for all the purist. Wheel Enhancement in LA / Culver City ask for Dave. I should get a photo, I as do friends think it looks good with the new wheels and tires, get new lugs too if you upgrade. Chas. |

Vote Twice...
I'd love to but the poll sez " you have already voted on this poll". Perhaps an Administrator can tally one more for me. 69 Coupe Bahama Yellow Hey Scott... You're right... The color does grow on you! #20742 Delivered to dealer in Eugene, OR... Just 100 miles south of your Portland delivery (and the home of UofO Ducks football). Webers / 050 69 Soft Window Targa Light Ivory #10394 Fun in the sun! And fairly rare. Webers / 050 Rumor has it there weren't more than a handful (50-60) "Soft Windows" produced for 69 model year. 911 & 912 combined. Anyone have hard numbers on this? Good to find you folks... great sight! Oh Yeah... Also in stable: 69 VW Beetle, 69 911 (Yeah... I know... but 69 just seems to work out well for me...) "Keep The 912 Faith" |

It looks like 1969 was a fine year for the 912.
Anyone want to speculate as to why there are more of these than any other, or is it just that more 69 owners are voting here? Where there more 69's manufactured that others? Craig |

I'm sure most everyone know the 912 Registry, but on the off chance this is a link to the Registry page that discusses production by year, by 69 totals aren't stated - my guess was 6500-7000 as there were 6300 68's. What did Pellow (Maestro) say were the production figures? Scott. 69 & 76 912/E |

Put me down for another 69 with a sunroof, major motor and suspension work and a 911 or two in its game bag.
