Not sure how far you are from La Habra, but you won't find anyone better than Benton Performance to service your 912. Benton Performance | Porsche 900 Series and 356 Service and Restoration | ||

Mr Benton has worked on my 912 for 10 years. Diva, not. Great air cooled mechanic, yes. Try this guy: OTTOS VENICE - Quality care for your exotic automobile.. He's been around for a while and would probably serve you well.

I also found Mr. Benton difficult to deal with. For a more pleasant alternative, try Larry Markham at Markham Motorworks in Burbank. 2208 West Burbank Boulevard Burbank, CA 91506-1234 (818) 848-1656 He's a bit of a character and is open odd hours, but he knows his stuff.

I've known Mr. Benton for over 10 years, and know him to be one of the best supporters of the 912 around. He credentials include building / maintaining concours and race winning cars, and powerful motors. RedLine Service used to be located in Santa Monica, but is now located in Long Beach. They have worked on 912s for many years: Red Line Service

Porsche mechanics tend to be like Chinese handcuffs. If the client is hard, the mechanic is hard. If the client is easy going and casual the mechanic is too. At least that's my general experience. I've got no direct experience with Mr. Benton as a customer, just something I've ascertained over the years in this business.
