Post Timing

Trying to set the timing on my '66 912. Where is the timing mark and how do I view it with my light? Sounds pretty dumb, but I just don't see it.

Hey Mike

Try pulling the Distributor cap off. Turn the motor over and Watch the rotor till it points to the mark on the Distributor. Their you should find the very small timing mark on the OUTer pulley half lined up with the case mark

Good Luck

Check under the "dynamic timing" , towards the bottom of the page, and you will find a couple of pix that show where the marks are on the outter pulley and the engine case.
