Whats the differance?

Hello again.
The info I gained on carb set up from the web site that Steve attached to his response was invaluable. Thank you Steve, things are running much better now.
I haven't located the screw that Jones discribed in his post but the weather has been quite wet around here this last week so there maybe even better things to report in the future.

Anyway the reason for my post tonight stems from the article I just read In "european car" magazine. In it shows a list of 912 production to year stats (pg46) it lists two body manufacturers, Karman and Porsche. I wasn't aware that the early "900" series had two body manufacturers. Mine is clearly stamped Karman on the drivers side next to the door hinge. Not knowing anybetter I thought all of these old cars are Karman body's. Looking at the chassis serial # listed it seems I have 1 of only 428 produced in 69.
Is this good or bad?
What is the differance between the Porsche built body and a Karman?
Why were they even subbing out in the fist place.
Just a point of interest is all.
I love this old car and I think my girlfriend is finally begining to forget about the 68 wire wheel mgb I sold to make room for 912. She had just found "the perfect matching yellow down vest" to wear while driving with the top off on those chillie spring mornings. All I can say is that if you think your Porshe is a rust bucket and you want to feel better go hang out with the MG boys, they know how to talk rust. Wooooo
Don't get me wrong mine was a pritty good one as mg's go, but the writting was on the wall or in this case the bumps around the fender wells. So I sold it when I brought home the Porshe. Now she wants a rice rocket to ride on those warm afternoons. I think thats why we get along so well, shes always willing to try something new... Sorry, gotten of subject, and a bit to wordy must be tired. Any response on the Karman question will be apreciated

No difference between the Karman and Porsche built bodies. I think Porsche was just exceeding its production capacity and had Karman make up the body tooling so as to make enough bodies to meet demand. I've got a Karman bodied driver and Porsche bodies parts car.
