What up guys I am new to this family so be cool.
Has anyone had any experience with replacing the Timing gear cover only on a 912? As opposed to replacing all three parts that make a complete case. Oil pump housing gear seating area does not look good, grinding metal appearence. Peace Out!!

Hello,
About a year ago I thought I might have to replace mine due to a crack. I looked around and found them available, used in several places, www.partsobsolete.com, and www.partsheaven.com. The rub is that your original engine # is stamped on the the timing gear cover, so if your into that kind of stuff it's better to take it to a good welder familar with alloy and see if he can do a repair. That's what I did, worked out great, and was considerably cheaper. To answer your question though, yes you can change out the part. Good luck and Happy motoring, Chas. |
