Does anyone know where I can get a Solex Repair Manual for the 40-PII-4 carbs on my 69 912? A used manual is OK.
If you have one would you be willing to copy it? I'll pay the cost. How about a good Solex carb rebuilder that you could recommend. Thanks for your help. Ron D

Thanks for the tip, luckily I did one carb at a time. I thought I had removed everything from the carb body but two brass rods fell out from somewhere when I turned over the body. The rods are not shown on any exploded view drawing I have including the repair kit drawing and Porsche shop manual carburetor drawings. I was more careful on the second carb and found that they belong under the accellerator jets. They are about 0.200" in diameter, 0.625" long and have a screwdriver type slot at each end. Not sure what they are or what they do. They are solid brass with no metered holes through them. Maybe they are just volume spacers and take up space to reduce the volume of gas in the passageway. Plan to satart up the engine tonight to see how good a job I did on the carbs. Can't say that I found any jet plugged up. Ron D
