Porsche Crest Today's Really Stupid Question, Ready?

I have a '66 912 and am trying to re-install the windshield washer system. I can't seem to locate the location of the pump, where is it, or where is it supposed to be?
See, I told you it was a stupid question.
TIA
David

Not stupid at all David, this forum is just not so active. Any how, for the 66 you have the late and early 66 cars. The late as in my 66 has the pump on a small tray to the left of the trunk beside the square water bottle. The late 66 and all up have a rounded type bottle and the pump is set to the left of the bottle. If you post a pic of your car I can tell you have you have. I recall the round bottle cars have a flat plate on the bottom of the trunk. HTH, Riq

My car is an early '66 with the water bottle in the fender. The car was originally equipped with the washer system given the bottle and hoses present. But, for the life of me, I can't tell where the pump is/was. I am ready to install all fresh fixin's......and further help you can provide?

Let's try to answer with a stupid picture from my '65/'66 912...

Watch the bracket under the pump.

I hope this helps,

Otto

I would say WFBowens picture is from a 65 that the earliest setup there is. The picture with the squre bottle is correct for 66. If only I could find me one of those bottles!
