Neat engine bay...

Saw mein12's engine photo. Looks great. Maybe I've never seen a "68 but where is the oil filter and what are we looking at on the right side? This setup would have saved lots of effort removing and installing the generator.

Thumbs up

Doesn't it make you mad how nice that engine bay is?

Hit the send button too quickly. The air filter you are looking at on the right side I believe is a crankcase vent. The car has been converted to a full flow oil system, and John put the oil filter in the left rear wheel well.

John also breathed on my 912 motor. He really knows his stuff.

hmm.. looks like someone is building a motor..

Looking good. I was wondering what that "watch this space" in your sigline was all about. Now I know that it meant a 1720 coming soon

My 1720 that John put together has 2000 miles on it already. I don't know how I ever lived with stock. It hauls, and it still only has the stock cam.

Nice “jugs”!”

Full flow oil is the only way to go and you can set the pressure release spring to adjust the oil pressure right where you want it. I don’t have to smog the car so I just vent “overboard

Mind if I add mine. My track buddies are all 6 cyl or water cooled and just don’t understand the 4-cyl pushrod thing.
