upgrading with 911 seats

Will 911T seats [1972 original] fit directly into my 912 Coupe with no modifications? The 911 seats have headrests and seatbelts attached. My 912 is a Karmann.

I'll say that I think they will fit as is. Seats with the internal headrest were available since '68.

There is a lot of incorrect info on the web. The head rests don't have anything to do with your question. The SWB cars use a seat base setup that is different than LWB cars.
Karmann has nothing to do with it also. If your 912 is a LWB, a 1969 car, they will fit directly. If its a SWB car, 1965 to and includung 1968, they will not fit directly. You can modify some things and make them fit however.

Interesting, if I am reading this thread correctly, it states stock '65 - '73 seats are interchangeable. Maybe this is more of that incorrect web info? PET does show two different part numbers for the guide rails.

Early 911 seat rail dimensions needed

The seat rail dimension has nothing to do with it! It is the seat locking configuration that changed in '69. As Gunzel stated it can be done by swapping the driver and passenger seat bottoms it is claimed. The rail dimension changed with the impact bumper cars. Seat adaptors can be used to retro those.
