Brake Upgrade

Hey guys,
I am starting to research brake upgrades for my 1969 912. What upgrades have you completed on your rides?

Here is some car data:
1969 912 Targa
14" wheels
Brakes are stock
19mm Master-cylinder
2.4FAT engine conversion

Thanks,
Russ

Curiosity; What kind of upgrade are you looking for? Restoration or performance? The factory setup is more than adequate for the 912 as it is identical to the 911.

I did all my caliper restoration with Eric.

Hey Bob,
Thanks for the reply and suggestions. After reading through some reviews and doing some more research I believe that you are correct. The stock arrangement should be satisfactory. From experience with my 914braking I too believe that the original setup should work fine. So I am now leaning towards cleaning and renewing.
I actually just got the car back on the road after a year in restoration and really have not giving the brakes any attention...as a matter of fact they still have the old rotors and pads that came on the car.
The calibers that you have pictured really looks like the BMW upgrade I completed on my 914 many years ago. They worked great!
Thanks again for the suggestion and link to PMB.

You can also go to the vented rotor system.
