My "design" of Brackets to engine pan for the Bursch exhaust
Hello Again! Inspired by the ideas suggested (thanks!), I have made these brackets for the Bursch exhaust. Just take a look at the attached photos (two from the right side and one from the left, respectively). It works!! Regards.

Hmmmm, my 912's Bursch has been on it since 1970 and has never had a brace, or a problem. Of course, all of the stuffing has rotted out by now, but it sure makes a beautiful sound!

Here is my somewhat similar solution:
![]() ![]() ![]() Parts Source: 1 1/2" Standard Exhaust Clamps (FLAPS) Simpson Joist Ties (Home Depot) Vibration Dampeners (thanks Peter Graham) (McMaster Carr) Charlie |

As long as everything is snugged-up tightly, that's not a bad solution. IMO the better one is the prior example using the exhaust clamps, but a rubber buffer isn't really needed since both the engine tin and the exhaust system are on the "floating" side of the motor mounts. The original Porsche support was solid from the muffler to the engine tin. |

Hi...! I agree - using the exhaust clamps seems more solid. However, and I agree again - no rubber is needed. B.r.
