Help Develop a 912 Registry Badge!
Based on previous comments received, Jeff Whitney has refined his design for a new 912 Registry badge (Note: the final product will have the word "Registry"). Please:
|
Rick,
Please clarify the apparent mis-spelling or spelling change for the Registry or Registerey... Craig |
While I'm not Rick ....
Simple spelling error - Jeff, the talented artist/desiger of our badge(s), posted the correction. R E G I S T R Y Here's the link: http://www.hillmanimages.com/mailman/sc912.pl?read=3394 |
Well, it won't let me vote, but D4 is my choice.
|
What is the deal here? Is the Board based in Florida? Still not able to vote. I've received several emails from others with the same problem. Oh well, D4 is clearly winning.

912 badge
Ummmm Guys Uhhhhh
D4 ehh a little boring don't you think??? don't we want a smidge of color??? I mean this is our badge after all |
I think the badge has great promise, although if it's not cost prohibitive, a touch of color would be great. I have a collection of badges, and I think the best one is from the Early 911S Registry, which has gold, red, black, and white. The most boring one is black and white. Of course, it makes sense to make the badge as close to possible to the logo, if there is one that's distinctive.

my vote for the badge
d4 & d5 for me....I'd like to have seen more color(s) choices? The "branches/ laurels?" a bit bolder or not at all? My niece thought
they were eyelashes. Otherwise nice designs! Tim (Tbonz) |
Hurry, there's still time to vote!
Hurry, if you haven't voted already, pick your favorite 912 Registry badge and add suggestions.
|
Don't think of it as black & white, think of it as BLACK & CHROME! Sometimes the simplest design is also the most elegant.:)
|
When?
Rick,
When can we buy a badge? The vote seems clear at this point. Good work, Chas. 69/912 |
I'm getting impatient with the badges availability. Is pelican going to e-mail me when I can purchase one? I say come on lets get it on my fellow 912'ers, I want a badge. Blue69porsc@AOL.com

Thanks everybody for you patience. Because producing the badges takes a significant investment, we are linking it with the "next-generation" 912 Registry. You will be able to order badges from the 912 Registry in the near future. Watch for major upgrades to the organization as our new Board of Directors take office!
Happy Holidays, |
Thanks Rick!
Just keep us posted. Any details on the enhancements to the registry? Happy Holidays! Morrie |
Start-Up Cost
Rick:
If it would help with the start up costs I would gladly prepay for a badge. I think a lot of us would be willing to send the money beforehand. Thanks, Ron |
Rick,
Count me in that group that would pre-purchase their badge. Craig |
Ditto. Where do I send the check
|
Look for an announcement around January 15th. Make sure that you are registered with the 912 Registry.
|
Me too x 2!

This is kind of a manual effort on Rick Becker's part. It may just be an oversight or maybe he just hasn't gotten to it. Try sending him a note from the feedback address on the registry.
I can guarantee you on behalf of the registry that you'll get a shot at the badge. Keep the Faith! Morrie 67 912 Coupe CenTex 912ers :D |
exc911ence,
I sent my info in also and thought it took a long time to be posted, then I realized there was more than one page for each year and you had to click on the serial number group for your car. Duh. Just thought I would mention that incase someone else made the same dumb mistake. Howard |
I thought of that and checked around the 69 area. There's a section in the last serial number area for "other" 912's but mine hasn't ended up in there either... I'll keep being patient but if costs me a badge, heads will roll!;)
|
exc911ence, just in case your first registration didn't go through, please send in your info again.
|
Info has been re-sent via the website. Third times the charm!:D
|
D4, maybe you could outline 912 in red like D6, and increase the size of the laurels. I will buy which ever one is chosen. Great job on the different designs.
|
HEY JEFF, THE 15th has come and gone and NO ANNOUNCEMENT how 'bout it will we be able to get one SOON
Les |
it's coming....
I've spoken with jeff this week. sjd |
All is coming together. Just a week or so and we'll have some very exciting news for 912 owners all over the world. It will be worth the wait. We appreciate everyone's patience.
|
OK, here's the announcement! The badges are in the works, starting with a limited-time-only numbered version available with the 912 Registry Charter Membership Level (which also includes a new newsletter six times a year, and more). Next there will also be unnumbered badges available for those who prefer the original free Owner Registration list. Thanks to everyone for your patience and particpation in the poll! For more details go to:

In case you haven't stopped by the website lately, 912 enthusiasts can now separately order the new 912 Registry Grille Badge! These are not the numbered Charter Member badges, but they still look great!
For more info and to view a photo, go to our homepage www.912registry.org |
Thanks Rick!!!
Any idea when those of us who have numbered ones coming might see them??? I got my membership packet about a week ago but still no badge.... Hoping to have it on for the May 17th Roundup in Dallas! Morrie |
We are very close! As most of you know, our vendor messed up on the attachment orientation. He made good on it, but it put us where we are today. What that means to the 912 world is that you should all be receiving your badges by the beginning of the second week of May.
We are new at this. We thank you all for your patience and support. We'll get the kinks worked out and will serve you better in the future. Keep the faith! |
