Pelican BBS Members - Need your help if you own a BMW...

In case you haven't noticed, we have a small section of our site reserved for BMW owners. Up until this point, the Porsche section has of course somewhat dominated the BBS and the site in general.

In conjunction with me starting on my next book, 101 Projects for Your BMW 3-Series, I would like to ask for some help from our Pelican BBS BMW owners (all cars, not just the 3-series). I have recently divided up the BMW forums, and made some new ones for discussing technical questions on the 3-Series, and also the 5,6,7 and 8 series.

If you own one of these cars, I would like to request that you post a message or comment in our BMW section. I have it setup so that I get an email if there is any new posts, so I will be able to quickly respond to new questions and comments.

As many of you know with the other BBSs, this is important to community building. Helping to kick-start our BMW BBS would help me out considerably, and also help us to grow our BMW community quicker. More community means Pelican does better, which translates into continued support for all the forums in this entire BBS.

So please, take a moment out and post a quick question or note in one of the new BMW BBS forums. Even if you don't own one, but simply have a question or comment about them, then you're welcome to post. If only 5% of you post one note per day, then it really should start kicking!

Thanks again for your support with this endeavor!

Hey that's great that Pelican parts is putting the puch on to get the BMW section going.

Have you considered divinding up the BMWs into:

e21 series (3 series 76-83)
e30 series (3series 84-91)

etc. etc. and also for the 5, 6, 7, and 8 series.

As an owner I find that you are dealing with totally diffent people when it comes to the e21 series BMW compared to the much newer e46 series (3 series 1999??- present)

Although this may create many boards, some of which will probally be much more active than others, this is how other BMW boards have things divided up. Check out the boards at Roadfly.com they have their BMWs divided up like this and they list the years and models of each series.

What you are doing it awesome. The two best models of cars in one Porsche and BMW.

You could probally get some awesome ideas for you book from some of the BMW guys/girls on the net, there are so many insightful people out there and all of them like to help you out; whether you are trying to fix your car or make it go faster.

BMW board comments..

Wayne,

Good going. I like the 912 board so this is sure to be good as well. I've had my 325 for 12 years. Lots and lots of owners out there that could use your help to be sure. BTW, nice book.

Frank
