Price check 66 912 engine

What's a fair market value on a 66 912 motor with webers + MSD. Complete engine with flywheel etc, turns freely but I have never heard it run. What's a safe value for this engine?

Thanks in advance

and sometimes priceless...
looking for my 740... engine for some time.

concerning prices:all depending on condition but 5k is ok 10 k for a newbuilt high end engine..
just calculate: a core, carburators, etc... parts alone come over 5 k if bought single..

it is a gamble. Not hearing it run nor being able to do a leak down/compression check makes it difficult to determine if it is in need of a rebuild ($$$$) or not. A non-runner is a couple grand gamble as Matt mentioned.
I am looking for 742227 and would love to find it even as a non-runner.

I know prices have been running but I have yet to see a $5k 912 core.

Thanks gents, been too long since I have taken a look at the 912 market. I just pulled this engine out of a customers car and he no longer wants it... he was gonna toss it so I saved it. I know it was running before he started the restoration a few months ago.

Just gonna toss it? Darn. A known runner is in the $5k range. Care to look at the numbers? Some of us are looking for our long lost engines.

JT912,

Yes of course. I was actually going offer to post the serial in regards to your earlier comment but forgot to mention it. I will be at my other shop in a few hours and follow up. My goal will be to clean it up, test it and prob hang on to it until I find someone that needs it.

Here is the only picture I have on me ATM. Its the one on the left obviously .. I will likely end up with the original harness too and will keep it with the engine.
