I am a new owner of a 67' 912 and the car did no come with a battery. As I was going to install a battery, I noticed that the red battery terminal was going to ground. Does this model have a positive ground?

steve,
while your there remove the ground cable and clean the threads etc where it bolts to the chassis. this is prime reason for voltage drop, slow starter etc. |

I've recently restored two 912's a 1966 and a 1967 - BOTH had red lines going to ground, black was positive.
Maybe, just maybe, this is "normal" for cars of that vintage. Regardless, look at where your cables run - if red goes to the frame or metal, it's the ground. If the black goes to additional wires, it's positive. YMMV |

Hey Steve!
Did you get a battery in that beast and light it up? What happened? remember, if you need or want any help, I'm only about 15 miles away across town! Best, Morrie 67 912 Coupe 00 Mustang GT Convertible
