912 Hockey Puck Horn Not working - Help needed

Hi
I need a little help with my hockey puck Horn on my Porsche 912. The operation of the horn seems simple, yet doesn’t really make sense. I know when I contact metal between the "push toggle" shown in the box in red and any other part of metal on the horn receptacle, the horn goes off. However, tIt isn’t like pushing the hockey puck in is the same as the depressed action on a normal horn. The hockey buck horn really doesn't push in (other picture attache). I was thinking of painting the push "push toggle" with a non conductive application, only leaving the tip exposed, so that it could somehow make contact with the metal when the hockey puck is depressed with force.

I would really like to get my horn to work, so any help on what I need to do would be most appreciated!

First off, you'll most likely need a new rubber spring (the rubber cup) which will make a great difference in how the horn pushing functions. If it's stiff and/or cracked from age you can get anything from unintended horn blowing to extra hard push.
Is your horn currently working? If not, you'll want to pull the steering wheel and make sure the contact pin ("push toggle") is making good contact with the contact disc. All that's really happening here is the contact disc in front of the steering wheel is made of non-conductive material and has a metal ring on it which is + charged to the horns. The contact pin takes this current through the steering wheel (insulated) and makes contact with the inside metal of the puck. Anytime the puck is pushed it contacts the metal ring of the steering wheel grounding (completing) the horn circuit.
