912E cab ventilation

I love driving the 912 as much as the next guy but with freeway noise here in Southern Calif. I usually roll up the windows. Winters are OK and if anything I need the heater. Now that summer is presenting itself it is just too hot to drive with the windows rolled up. On hot days I do roll the windows down but don't like it. The mechanical fan ventilation is worthless.

I am convinced that at least one of you guys out there has run in to this and solved the problem by taking advantage of the small air grill in the front trunk or another avenue that allows plenty of fresh air into the vehicle without all the road noise.

Pop out rear windows would help but I really don't feel like going that route at the moment. This might be obvious but this vehicle is non air conditioned.

Appreciate you guys - thanks Dennis

Well above about 80F you're either going to want windows down or air conditioning.

There are vents above the rear window that draw hot air through the sunroof. By now a lot of cars have had these sealed up. You can also get pop out rear side windows that draw air out as well. You can also get the windows tinted to limit your solar insolation.

I gave up and installed air conditioning in my 912E.

The front vent is to bring the air into the car and out the back those tiny holes in your head liner. Also the front wind wings can blow air into the car and into your face and rear sides windows help by pulling the air into the cabin and out, by them being open.

Also you can use the European air condition by squirting a fine spray of water from a spray bottle on your face. That's how I got through Northern California, (Red bluff and etc) in a August 118 degree heat wave. In the Summer I always carry a spray bottle with water, just in case.

Or install real air condition and have less power.

I did this and it gets lots of fresh air to the face. Dunno if the 912 has vents down there.

That might be the ticket, I'll take a closer look. Appreciate the input from everyone.
