Front tag mount

Hello All

Before I get a ticket, How is YOUR front tag mounted. Been running around without for two years, but I would like to have it there.

Thanx
Brett

I sure am glad we dont need them ugly front plates anymore here. I dont think it will work for plates but I know some things are excused from older cars that were not installed at the factory, lap belts, mirrors etc. Work on getting that law changed. Oh BTW mine had the two big screw holes just under the deco trim, now welded up and gone.

Tag holder

Brett,

Same issue here in Mass. I found a way to attach the plate without any holes as I was loath to drill any holes in sheet metal. I got a plate holder, I think from a BMW, that had mounting flanges coming off of the bottom (or top) at a 90 degree angle. I held it so that the mounting flanges were on the bottom, put a bolt through each hole with big fender washers and stuck the washers up underneath the front end between the bumper and the front pan. Its a tight area to work, but when tightened up the washers get jammed in that small area between and I have'nt lost the plate yet.

Good luck. I wouldn't drill any holes myself........

This isn’t the answer you are looking for but I keep a scuffed up and mounted on a damaged mounting bracket front plate in the trunk. If or when I am asked about the lack of front plate I plan to show the banged up plate and explain that it was just recently damaged by a tire stop. 4 years on the road and no problems yet.
