interior install
I am about to reinstall my interior (the PO removed everything except basketweave on dash). What would be the easiest steps. Work from bottom knee pad to visors? also any helpful hints and things to lookout for would be appreciated. Also does anyone have the plate that goes were the radio goes for sale.

Are you looking for a radio faceplate for use with the radio, or a cover for use without a radio? (I have both, just lemme know.)

You may not want to hear this, but AA has had the radio plate in the past.

Having just done this I would make a small switch:
- Floor vinyl - Carpet - Back pad The floor vinyl is under the carpet and the bottom edge of the back pad is on top of the carpet. Remember not to install the pedal board until you only have the drivers side front floor carpet to install - there are several pieces of carpet that need to be installed in the footwells before you put in the pedal board. Arent there plastic nuts that hold on the dash inside the instrument cluster "hump". If so, you will need to put the dash pad on prior to installing the guage cluster.

Yup, Scott--you're right about the plastic nuts that hold the dash cap on.

I guess Im a little screwed. All screws and nuts to all dash pieces are missing. As for the carpet the PO cut some black indoor carpet and put that in. I just finished putting new black vinyl on the console and the center back pad, came out better then I thought. Will start doing the side parts this weekend. I guess I will be visiting the hardware store lookin for the correct size screws and nuts.

Does anyone know about these Getty 911 Style Door Panels designed for a 914? Are they still being sold? They look better than the stock panels, IMO, but I probably won't get them because I'm a pretty big CW.

If I do this right, these should be pictures of the studs on the underside of the dash cap. Let's see if the upload works, then I can edit and put the labels in....
Pic 1--left side of the dash (driver's door would be to the right in the pic, front of the car toward the bottom of the pic). Note the one stud that is in the instrument binnacle. ![]() Pic 2--the other instrument binnacle stud, and the one next to the ashtray. ![]() Pic 3--other side of the ashtray, and next to the glove box. ![]() Pic 4--the two on the passenger's end of the dash cap. ![]() Pictures courtesy of "sammyg", Turbo Water Mohawk Tail-dragger Dude. ![]() --DD

if your door panel liners are gone (and you need them) 4 mil plastic and double sided tape work dandy. if the po removed the thin plastic cover piece that is behind the visors, that piece needs to be installed before the "a" pilar covers, visors, holding clips, etc.
