Clutch cable clips

74, 914, 1.8 carbs...I’m being told I need “clips” to hold my clutch cable in place, they’re apparently missing, so the cable moves side to side. Any idea where to get these? I tried Pelican parts & Auto Atlanta, they have nothing by that name...

Where are they telling you they are needed?

The cable is held to the inside of the center tunnel by metal clips. They can fail, which will let the clutch adjustment change kind of at random.

Here is a tech article that shows the layout of the tube inside the center tunnel, including the clips:
https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/914_center_tunnel/911_center_tunnel.htm

The following post from 914world shows a repair of the forward clip from the outside of the tunnel.
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?s=&showtopic=114150&view=findpost&p=1412259
The black piece that goes off the right side of the photo is the base of the gear shift lever. Remove the lever and you can look inside the tunnel to see.

This thread shows another person's take on the repair:

There is also a clip that holds the rear end of the cable sheath onto the bracket that the roller wheel mounts to. The clip is basically a big washer with a tab on the side; the tab goes through a hole in the bracket and is bent over to hold it in place, and the end of the sheath goes through the hole in the washer.

I think I need the “washer” with tab, at the end near the “pulley” where the cable is held onto a “bracket”...

Part number
914 423 030 02, "bearing bracket".
914 423 283 00, "tab washer".

The tab washer is available here: https://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/ksearch/pel_search_2016.cgi?command=DWsearch&LastVisited_input=0979&make=POR&description=914+423+283+00

A pic from Pelican's clutch Tech Article shows the bracket with the pulley inside it, and you can almost sort of make out the tab washer:

A pic from the 914world BBS show a cleaner version of the same area:

And a couple that show the washer itself:
