Question Master cylinder question

I have a 19mm master cylinder from a 70 911, but it doesnt have the electrical doodad on the side, nor a place to put one. What is up with this? Does my car (73 914) need the electrical thing? Should I just rebuild this one (since I have the rebuild kit already), and ebay it?
TIA

Don't worry about the electrical spade connector. Use it anyway.

The connector is for the brake warning light and I think you are smart enough to know if your brakes are having a problem. Just tape the wire connector over and make sure you adjust the free play with the adjusting rod as per the Haynes manual. Good luck

I DONT have it, though. I couldnt find my manual last night so I thought that I would solicit my answers here. It sounds like I dont have to use it, am I right?
Thanks for the replies,
Mike

You don't need it. Oh yeah, did you hear Herb is going to be opening a completely new resturant this year in the East Lake area? Sounds like we'll have to have another 914 get-to-gather????

Guys,

I just bought a 996 GT3 brake master cylinder for my 914 project on Evil-Bay. Do you know what size this is? I assume it would be large enough for my C2 brake calipers. Is there a difference in master cylinders between a car with power brakes and non power brakes? Do you see any problems with using this master cylinder?

I forgot to mention that the master cylinder i bought did not include the power booster. Is it necessary to get the booster? Does it have to be the booster from a 996 or will one from an early model work (993/964/etc)?
