My MPS, is it working?
I've been having a bit of low throttle touble. check this post
While trouble shooting I checked my mps, one of the connections was at about 90 ohms(normal) and the other(supposed to be about 350 Ohms) was not even going through, its like it was disconnected. Should I buy a new one or attempt to rebuild this one? And if I left it like this, what would happen, would it run too rich?. [This message has been edited by dbeardsl (edited 10-01-1999).] |

Ummm... I think I remember that at least one of the D-jet articles has a couple of pins in the MPS connector swapped around. You might try measuring from that pin to each of the others. If you still don't get any connection, then the MPS is bad.
The electrical connections go to two coils. The coils should not touch at all, so you should have one pin that is connected ONLY to one other pin, and the other two pins should ONLY be connected to each other. Resistance values are approximate, and can be off by somewhat supposedly without significantly affecting the running of the car. But you definitely don't want them shorted to each other, or no connection. --DD |

I read your other post I have a few question.
Is all your FI stuff fully operational? Your auxilary air valve? Does your cold start valve leak? Do you have a vacum leak anywhere? Can your MPS hold a suction? Some of the things I just mentioned may not have a direct impact on what your experiencing but figure that stuff out first before you spend 200 bucks on the MPS. |
