Over the years my 74 has slowly sagged (evenly)... Obviously i need to put in new springs and shocks... but I have gotten used to the low profile of the car... and looking back at my pictures from 10 years ago, the original height is really ugly.
any suggestions? I dont mind a harsh ride, but the car wont be tracked any time soon. Its mostly a sunday cruiser... and dont really care to spend a lot on race suspension... i have another car for that kind of fun. sc

If you have Koni or Bilstein shocks, those should already have several adjustments built in. There should be a large C-clip around the shock body, and the lower spring perch should sit on that. You can move the C-clip to change the ride height in discrete steps. Not as easy as the threaded-collar adjustable spring perches ("coil-over" simply means the spring is wound around the strut; the term is mis-used all the time) but it can get you more than close enough for looks.
Most of the aftermarket springs (at least, 140 lb/in and higher rates) are shorter than stock springs, and will lower the car from stock. You can lower the front end to match with the torsion bar adjusters. However, the 140s will probably make the rear end of the car a little too stiff, so you will want to stiffen the front a bit to compensate. I find that a 19mm adjustable sway bar works pretty well for this. (No rear sway bar.) --DD
