Looks like a non-stock add-on. Possibly a starter relay.

I think you're right Dave the small white wire goes to the starter with the big black and red wires

JedinDetroit 11-03-2019 06:35 AM

I think that is the stock double relay found on 1.8 fuel injected models

Dave at Pelican Parts 11-03-2019 01:37 PM

Nope, there are no bolt-on terminals on the dual relay. There are also more wires going to it, I believe.

I agree with dave, looking at the big yellow wire, a add on starter booster relay made from a typical american Air conditioning relay

Really, I heard them say that the ford part was more water resistant

Ok so this is what I get NOW. I am reading 12.47 from the BIG black wire to the white and the same reading from the big black to the yellow, I am NOT getting a reading from the 1/4 inch nut connection to the big black wire............before I was jump starting from the two nut connections, now nothing, did I burn out my starter add on relay????????

brcacti 11-06-2019 12:22 PM

Hello, void this last post about the add on starter relay, in all my inexperience and haste I forgot the plug in the wire from the add on starter relay to the starter, I can jump start it again and the add on starter relay is not bad. Might be the ignition switch will try some further testing.
