Check vacuum hoses are attached. Check for voltage on battery (want 14.0 ideally to crank solid). Check fuel filter for clog/debris. Got oil? Check distributor? When di you last replace distributor and cables? Pull spark plugs and clean - check gap. Need more info otherwise? Fuel injection?? etc

1) Check the power relay on the relay board
2) Check for batt voltage
3) Check that connections are tight on the batt and cables at the starter.
Once you get the car to turn over if it still does not start spray some starting fluid ( not a lot but a good spray)into the intake. If it starts for a short time then you know you have a fuel delivery problem.

What George said, handy book to have, he wrote it and all. You want to be methodical with this sort of stuff

Original fuel injection, carbs, or some other fuel system?

"The pump ran but now does not" sounds a lot like an electrical problem.
