What's this?
And do I need it... if so, what can I use to replace it because the wire broke off too short. It is part of my 73 2.0L wiring harness.
Thanks!! Brian ![]() |

It's a 240 ohm (270?) resistor that goes between the head temp sensor and the FI wiring harness. It is supposed to be there, but if you plug the CHT sensor directly into the harness the car will still run. It might even run better than with it in place, depending on what versions of the other parts (MPS, ECU, CHT) are in place.
It is just a resistor, so you can go to Rat Shack and get a 1-watt resistor of the same resistance, and some wire, shrink tubing, and crimp-on connectors to make a new one. You might be able to solder a wire onto the broken-off end of this one, even. --DD
