Advice Please - Torsion Bars Swap 911/914 Compatibility

Thought I posted this from my phone but don't know where it went.

Just found out the nice control arms I bought 17 years ago for my 1972 911T are actually 914 arms with a different spline count, so my sway away 911 bars don't fit the arms. I lined up a new set of 914 bars but just realized I will need 914 torque arms adjusters too.

Are there any other compatibility traps in using 914 arms n bars on my 911? Such as the 914 adjuster arms will not fit the 911 crossmember, or are a weak bad design, fail easily, nearly impossible to get etc?

Are there any rationally priced new torque adjuster arms out there? Where? Not finding them on Pelican or elsewhere.

Anyone have a nice used set they will part with? I am trying to get going without having to disassemble the front suspension again. TIA?

AFAIK, the only difference is the spline count.

Note that the stock torsion bars on the 914 are thinner than those on any 911, so the spring rate will be lower. The difference is less than 1mm, but since torsion bar spring rates go up with the fourth power of the diameter, it's still an actual difference. But aftermarket bars are available in all manner of sizes.

I would recommend used adjusters, because they don't wear out. The contact surface on the bolt can wear, but that's just a bolt and is easy to replace.

easier to just get a pair of 911 arms & use the 911 bar (underslung) - it's an upgrade & you won't worry about the well known problem of 914-type bar cracking the fenderwall

Well due to my brain fade I wound up up snagging the last set of 20 mm 914 sway aways and a nice set of used adjusters for a 911. Guess I will send back the 20mm 914 bars. It was the last available set. But… After I sell my TR8 convertible in the spring I may or might may not keep the TR8 coupe as the autocross car. If I don't, I will have to get a 914. Always been on my wish list. It is this kind of logic that nets you a barn full of parts for vehicles you never had or got rid of… LOL
