74 1.8 fuel pump replacement

I've got a new 2 port fuel pump and was wondering how to hook I up. I hadn't planed on mounting it up front. what's everyone else doing with her pump.

I also need the directions for not replacing the return line when I install the pump.
Thanks inn advance

As I look at the top of the new fuel pump I see what looks like someone scratched a X in the top on one side near the outer edge and can't tell if that is the positive connection.
It's a Bosch part #69133. The directions are lacking as to what is the intake and what is the outlet. Can someone clarify for me. I will be mounting it up front after all. Do I block he fuel line are the last injector in the loop?
Thanks

This Bosch Pump, 69133....

......is the Flow-Through type and the inlet is the Aluminum end, typically M12, and the outlet is at the Black Plastic Hose Barbed end, typically M8.

Thanks Len. Any Idea on where I plug the fuel line. I see a regulator after the last injector before it goes to the return line. Do I live without the regulator?

What you are doing is eliminating the branch that goes to the three-port fuel pump's "R" port. That means that the outlet of the fuel pressure regulator should go straight into the return line through the center tunnel, instead of going to the "Y" fitting and then to the center tunnel.

Keep the regulator, keep the rest of the stuff the same.

Another question, How is the power run ? Is it connected to the factory plus and run up though the tunnel or is there ab easier way?

In stock form, power comes directly from the battery to the dual relay that hangs off the battery tray. A red wire is used for this.

One part of the relay ("dual relay") controls the power going to the injectors (by way of the resistor pack that also hangs off the battery tray) and to the ECU. Those are both white wires.

The other part supplies power to the fuel pump, via a black/red wire that goes from the relay to pin 12 of the T12 connector on the relay board, which is the right-rear connector. It also supplies power to the aux air valve, through another white wire.

Inside the relay board, T12/12 connects to pin 13 of the T14 connector at the right-front of the relay board. Another black/red wire on that connector runs inside the car's main wiring harness to the fuel pump. A brown wire goes back through the main harness to the multiple ground point under the relay board.

If you are asking how to get power from there to the front due to relocating the pump, then you will either need to add new wires to the main harness or along side the main harness (going through the "snorkel" rubber boot that attaches to the firewall) or run new wires some other way.
