914 history
Did dealers in the 70's ever offer 914 upgrades? ie shocks, seats, spoilers etc.
In particular Momo Prototypo steering wheels and similar? Just wondering because over here in OZ we have "historic" car registration (much cheaper) My 914 presently doesn't qualify if I run it with an old Momo steering wheel, even if I still have the factory wheel. Which I dislike due to its size. So there is a list of "period options" under ongoing review. There is plenty of info available on what came from the factory but not so much on what dealers may have fitted or sold. Any advice much appreciated and I can forward to my club. |

Dealers offered many aftermarket parts as options, in order to make the cars more profitable. In particular, radios and alloy wheels were very popular. Items like the Aamco center console, shift knob, bumper overriders, and luggage rack were less so.
I don't specifically know of any that offered a Momo steering wheel, but if there were wheels and adapters available at the time they might very well have done so. --DD
