914-6 pickup

I was going through old photo albums of pics (before digital) when I had my shop. Came across this interesting one. For those of you that knew Dick Troutman, this is a picture of his 914-6 pick up that I painted. That’s actually Dick in the background. He was a master fabricator.

I remember seeing that “back in the day” I wonder where it is now?

At the 2020 Amelia Island Rennwerks Reunion there was a similar vehicle that was a European race track emergency response unit.

IIRC, that may be the same car. I believe that Kevin Jeanette bought it and converted it into a safety car type.

There was also a four-cylinder version that Aase used as a shop truck for a number of years.

-Levi- Here's the same car at Amelia Island 2020. Signage documents it as the Troutman car.
