How to get the seats out

I need to re-upholter my 914 seats but can't get the Darn things out the car

Is there a video showing the seats being removed from a 914,
I've read about it, attacked them with tools,
I simply don't understand how to do it.
Hopefully someone can send me a video link where I can see it being done,
as opposed to reading about it
Many Thnx

Just move seat to full front position ( short person). Look behind on the tracks and you will see two bolts on each track, remove with 10mm socket. Done

Umm, there are two more bolts to remove--the ones at the front of the tracks.

The easiest way to remove the seats from a 914 (except the passenger's seat of a 70 or 71 car!!) is:
- Pull up on the seat slider lever (it has a loop-shaped handle on it unless the handle has broken or been replaced) and slide the seat all the way forward.
- Reach under the other seat rail and feel for a metal tab sticking downward. Push that tab up, and slide the seat the rest of the way forward, off of the seat rails.

If the brackets need to come off the floor pan at that point, you can very easily access the mounting bolts without the seat in the way.

The seat track locates in a toothed comb at the front. After you remove the seat you can remove the seat track by removing the four 10mm head bolts at the back and pulling the adjustment lever.

Don't need to remove toothed comb, just pull the adjustment lever and lift to the rear. I've done it four times this month......added sound deadening. Wish I had a swap meet to go to. Mark

Rats, looks like my memory is playing up! You're right. But I still just slide the seat forward off the seat rails anyway...

The 71 has the fixed passenger seat. The seat bottom is a separate part from the seat back, which is part of the back pad. I don't remember how the seat bottom comes out.

Four nuts holding the plastic seat bottom to studs on the floor. I think they are 10mm.
