need a lil' help~distributor guts missing

Hi all,

Need a favor to help fix our would-be track support vehicle... the 1976 VW Westfalia Camper (with a 2.0 Type IV motor of course!)

We need the small round drive mechanism which connects the bottom of the distributor to the worm gear on the engine;

If it matters, the distributor part number is 0231 176 - it's from an injected VW 2.0 bus motor.

We bought the sucker with all the ignition parts in a box and the worm gear to the distributor drive piece was missing and we're stuck without it. The distributor won't lock into place or turn without it.

Will this be a pain to refit? Let me know if you've got one or know where to get one.

Thanks,

David

Geoff,

Would you mind digging it up and letting me know the part number?

Thanks,

David

Be sure to order the thrush washer that goes in too. Don't lose the washer into the motor!

You could also help support the BBS by trying the BBS host. Even if it isn't in the on-line catalog, that doesn't mean we don't carry it. 888/280-7799.

I did check the PP catalog first but its not listed. DD
I don't have time to call so to help out a fellow teener I gave the info I can get to online plus he wanted the Part number.
Maybe Wayne should fill in some of the gaps in the online catalog, hmmm, ok?
Lots of us look and order at night when there is no phone parts service, I did just the other day for some small pieces ($100 order).
It would be nice if the catalog was more detailed for the parts and less space was spent on the assorted screws boxes and magazine subscriptions.(major turn off)

If I can't get it used somewhere I will definately call PP. It's my first for new parts too. I didn't see it in the catalog either (after I got the part number).

Thanks,

David
