When I pull the headlight switch on in my 72 914, the left headlight goes through one complete up/down cycle before opening again and staying open - always the same.
Cute but also irritable ... any suggestions ??? ![]() |

i think this will be the headlight relay, behind the headlight.
i've read ...... that you can clean the relay prongs and use a razor blade to open the slots in the prongs to get better contact. it's a good idea to have a couple of extra relays. doug waters

Thanx Doug; appreciate the comment but I've already tried swapping the headlight relays to no avail.

have you tried rotating the little wheel on the back of the bucket through a couple cycles? Both ways?
Seems like I had one do that about forever ago. M

ok .... sorry that didn't help. i once had a 74 that did this and IIRC replacing the relay solved the problem. maybe try cleaning the relay socket and your grounds.
maybe someone that has solved this recently will help. to correct myself, "i think" it's actually the motor relay and it's behind the black plastic cover. doug
