Oil Temp guage wiring

I have a 2.0 motor with the oil temp sensor in the sump. My question is, which wire bundle does the wire from the center console oil temp guage show up in. I have carbs, I have two main bundles that come out of the firewall, one goes left to the board and one goes right to the battery. Which one of those bundles does the guage to sensor wire come out of? Confused...I am My car is a 74.

Randy

I know the wire color, it's just that the PO splooged all over the wiring harnesses and I can't tell what color most of the wires are, it makes for an interesting wiring job. If I knew where it came from it would save me time, no biggie, I'll just start plugging in wires until I smoke it!

In my 73, it came out under the car by the fuel pump.

sorry, if i remember correctly, the green/black wire from the temp sender goes across the engine mounting bar to a connection under the battery area, so i'd say it's not the relay board side bundle. you could always put a voltage on the wire connector at the console bundle and check for voltage in the bundle under the battery area.

On the 73+ cars, it's over on the right side down near the fuel pump. On the 72-only cars, I think it's in the left side. They've got a little bit of unique wiring to them...
