1974 Porsche 914 flashing circle “g” light

Turn the key alternator light flashes and makes noise like a turn signal. Does not go out when I start the car.
I see 14v across the + and - on the battery with engine running and 12.3 or so with engine off.
Replaced VR with no change.
PO changed the electrical portion of the ignition switch because you could remove the key and the car would keep running. My wipers work and my horn does not.
I don’t think horn is related because I removed the batwing and the cable is not connected.

You will probably have better luck posting this on 914world.com
If you’re getting 14v across the terminals I’m not sure. I believe that light will flash for anything less than 13v.

Sounds like someone may have put the wrong bulb in the "G" location of the combo gauge.

Check that the handbrake handle presses the button under it when you let the handle all the way down, and then go under the car and press the reset button on the electrical switch sticking out of the brake master cylinder.

If either of those fixes the problem, then the brake warning light (or a bulb wired to the brake warning light circuit) got put into the "G" light spot by mistake.
