Scratched Vin code - identifying 914 Porsche
Hello! I am having trouble identifying Porsche 914 model to Local Authorities. I bid on this car at a US auction and then imported it to Georgia(Country). When it came to the point where I needed the registration here locally to get plates, it turned out all the random places where the VIN code was placed is scratched. Only on the car windshield has a VIN code and they don't accept it as valid identification. Where can I get full info about my car and identify it properly? Thank you!

There are 4 main locations.
1) the metal tabe on the Lt windshield frame. 2) drivers door by the door latch 3) inside the front trunk, passenger side by the wheel well stamped in metal. In front of gas tank. 4) inside headlight bucket passenger side. Then there is a 5th one that is on the small plate at the front of the door jam drivers side. I believe the small serial number Karmann. That too can be traced to the car |

The headlight bucket VIN plate was moved to the rear bulkhead of the front trunk for the 75 model year, due to the front bumper shocks taking some of its space.
Jeff Bowlsby's amazing website has a page listing the places for the various plates, labels, and markings. https://bowlsby.net/914/Classic/PLM.htm --DD
