Seat question help needed

Hello I have some race seats in my 1971 914 and want to go back to stock seats.
I know i will need to do some fab work but want to know if the left and right seat are the same. Are the seat rails the only difference? Do the slide adjustment handle go on the the same side of the seat.
Im not selling the race seats just need to make it better to get in and out.
Thanks Alex

On my '74, driver and passenger seats are not interchangeable. If you do, neither seat will adjust all the way forward. You also won't be able to press up on the spring catch underneath either seat to slide the seat out off the bottom track.

The slide adjustment handles should be on the shifter side for both seats, not on the outside. Ask me how I know

Seats are the same.
Sliders are different
You can get seats and sliders separately.

I am not sure if this is the case on the 70-72 cars, but on 73+ there is a "divot" in the outer part of the left lower bolster on the driver's seat to provide a little more room for your hand to grab the handbrake handle.

The part of the headrest cushion that goes over the top of the seat structure has a different angle on the driver's and passenger's seat. It echoes the subtle curve of the engine lid, rear window, and firewall.

I think the seats are slightly angled inward toward the centerline of the car, because the wheel wells intrude on the foot space and this helps you to move your feet slightly inboard.

Note that a 71 would originally have had a fixed passenger's seat, not the moveable one like the later cars do. You may have to fabricate a mounting system for the seat.

The pad on the firewall in the passenger compartment is different on the fixed passenger seat cars too.

Where are you located? What seats are in your car?
I have the correct setup for a early 914 and 914-6 in Florida.

I am in need of your seats. Mostly just the padded back/fixed passenger side. How much do you want for them? I live in Atlanta GA.

Your seats are for a late car. I need the seats for an early car.

70 71 914s have an affixed passenger seat. 71 models specifically were covered in naugahyde vinyl

When my knee let's my climb around, I'll see if I have a separate back bad.
For the ones pictured, $750+ shipping and PayPal fees, pick up greatly preferred.
