1976 914 Smog Pump & Pulley Value?
Considering the purchase of a 76 914 that has been converted to Webers and missing original EFI parts and smog pump and drive pulley. Car is out of State but I would have to register in CA. I may have located a smog pump and pulley that was taken off of another 1976 in 1978 and stored. Has anyone seen functional 76 914 smog pumps for sale recently? I am not sure of current market value but know they can be difficult to find.
Unfortunately will also have to track down 76 EFI equipment. The car in question is worth the effort, I would just register as non-op until I can source all required parts. Or buy property in Montana. ![]() |

I think buying property in Montana may be the better option...
If the engine has been modified, particularly if the cam was changed, you'll never be able to pass the tailpipe sniffer even if you have all of the correct original CA-approved equipment on the car. Unless you know for a fact that the engine is unmodified, I would pass on it. I think you are underestimating the amount of effort required, if it is possible at all. I strongly suggest you look for other 914s. --DD

I think I have the pump from my 1976 914, I’m in Georgia and would consider selling.
I’m original from California and know California wants you to have to pass the smog. |
