Someone over on the 914club.com BBS is doing them. Fronts, rears, side markers. Personally, I don't care for the look....

(Note that they are not legal in many areas--at a minimum, you will need to put appropraite-colored bulbs in them!!)

Do a search over there andy you should find a link.

Oh please no. The 914 is not a car for the "Klear Kornerz" look. (Not that there is really any car at all that would deserve that look.)

if your bulbs are colored you are fine. To make your own clear lenses just soak your regular ones in diesel fuel. It leaches out the pigment.

signal lights

Urbanskater---When I repainted I welded both the side marker lights and the oval turn signal lights. I installed after market turn signals behind the bumper grills. If you want more info on how I did it send me a PM.

Just to point it out, that configuration is _not legal_ in almost all localities in the US. You _need_ to have turn signals that are visible from directly in front of the vehicle as well.

if the turn signals are behind the horn grills it should be legal. I did the same thing on my truck and I've never had any problems any where I drove.

You can purchase clear front lenses from AA @ $40/pair:

Than you can wait for the R&D to be completed on the clear tail light lenses from Clauss Studios:

Patience is the key, as Greg (of Clauss Studios) is working on a finalized product.

Ricermania aside, I like the look of clear lenses.. it would work great on an outlaw/retro teener.

Those front turn signals were so cleverly hidden that I missed them. My fault, sorry. I should have seen that.

Actually, some states have very very picky laws indeed about automobile lighting. I think PA was one such state? On the Honda BBS I sometimes read, one guy worked for a manufacturer of aftermarket lighting--and he said that PA, where he lived, had some seriously nit-picky laws about lights on cars.

Read up on your own state's laws. You might also ask around to see which laws are rarely enforced; though those laws are the ones that cops often use to pull you over when they feel they need an excuse...

My friend had clear front turn signal lenses on his 6 a long time ago... late '70s, early '80s... think that he said they were the 'Italian' version. Didn't matter to me then (or now). FWIW, I prefer the amber/clear ones. Funny how the trend (marketing) now is to have clear lenses.... When the stock DOT US taillights were only red (with white reverse) lenses, everyone wanted the Euro amber/red/white or the French amber/red/amber taillight lenses. Guess it's one of those 'I'm so old that I remember...' deals. Sorry....

I like the fron clear lenses, mostly I think b/c the first *nice* 914 I saw had them... but I like the euro(3 color) rear tail lights better personally... but I think Rbell did probably the best non-stock thing you can do... very slick, very nice. hats off!

if your car is signal orange I like the stock turn lights... other than that... there are better options... but that is just my opinion

a dark car with smoke lenses is another option too...

you know i thought about smoke lenses before but i dunno if they will match the all red tail lights. I definetly want the all red tail lights with my color, no question about it. would smoke turn signal covers look right with the red tail lights? I plan on welding up the circular turn signal place on the side. ANyone have any pictures of a smoked out?

I think for Red Cars.. smoke is not the way to go... Rbell has the best way for red... Need proof? look at a red 350Z... they match the paint to the tail light color very well... you almost can't see the taillights if they aren't on until you get right next to it...

smoke would be great on a black or very dark car... say deep blue metallic... and I think clear looks best on lighter colors.. white, silver... though I did see a very sweet black car with clear lenses that worked well b/c they also painted the housing for the lenses on the inside(maybe this is the easiest and sweetest option for all colors)

bright colors should look at Rbell's Car, unless it's a color that looks good with the Orange or Orange/white lenses(ravenna green, signal orange, solar yellow...)
