Question a cuple of ?'s

A few simple questions- I just had the car painted and Am in the process of replacing the windshield trim after polishing. The top section with the small clip does not want to seat properly. I hangs out about 1/4 inch. The pillar corners are new and sit nicely. Is there an adhesive I can use to get the top piece to lay down? Also my high beam indicator light is out on the tach, anybody have a bulb number?. While I'm at it is there a brighter selection of dash bulbs out there? Thanx- Greg

On the two 914s that I have owned both of the high-beam indicators have been so dim that you almost could not tell if they were on.

Anyone else have this problem? IS there a brighter bulb??
Thanks,

Not sure about the windshield trim.

On the lights, try new bulbs--and also cleaning all the connections on the back of the gauges. You'd be surprised at how much those two steps will help the lights...

I have same problem with high beam indicator light. Way too dim, can barely see it at night! Tried new bulb, tried cleaning with Q-tip & alcohol & tried swapping parking light indictor. Nothing worked. If you find something that works let me know.

Ralph---- I found an answer to the problem with the high beam indicator light!! It took me some work but now my high beam light is almost too bright! First I removed the gauge and disasembled it. I replaced the small piece of blue semitransparent plastic that covers the hole that the high beam light is supposed to shine through.(after 29yrs it had turned almost black) I used a small piece of blue gel from a stage spot light. It has been working perfectly for over a year now!! If you need more details let me know.
