Do you think this motor will fit in my 914?

I've been thinking about an engine conversion, this looks like the motor I've been looking for:

Do you think it'll fit?

Thumbs up Will it fit

Only if you can get along without the rear trunk!!!!!
Try it and post pictures of your progress.

I wonder if you can modify your D-jet to work on it?

Actually it would make for a pretty decent power to weight ratio, on the order of a 350 HP engine in a 914 (the engine alone gives Power (watts)/lbs as 136, whereas a 350 HP engine in a 914 (~2000 lbs) gives 130 or so...

I think your center of mass might move up a bit. And good luck finding springs and a torsion bar for that much weight.

Another consideration is the tranmission. Probably not going to handle that kind of torque, not to mention the low RPMs.

The real question is, can it be turbocharged?

You'll have to upgrade to turbo half-shafts...

Yeh, the tranny - how 'bout a 50 speed to take advantage of low rpm motor.

And you could mount it like the Indy Turbine cars.

Been spending a little to much time in the Phoenix sun?

This looks like a conversion for the pair of limos, the super-stretch could even keep the back seat!

With half a million ft-lb of torque, I'm not sure I'll need a tranny. But it might be a bit slow.

Picturing one of those engines in any car reminds me of the Dodge Tomahawk. That was where they bolted wheels to a Viper 505 V10 and wound up with a motorcycle-like thing. This would be similar. It's not a question of whether or not the frame could handle it because the engine IS the frame!
