North County Porsche Drive results

All,

Thank you for attending the first North County Porsche drive. I enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing such a variety of beautiful Porsches. I wrote a short article about our drive and posted it on my site this morning. Those of you who took pictures, if you can e-mail me copies, I would love to add them to the few I was able to take. If you haven't been to my site before, click on the url below my signature. When the page open's up, there will be a menu to the left. Click on the link for the "North County Porsche Drive #1" and then click on the link that opens below that. You should see the article on the right in the main window pane. If any of you have objections to your names being used or I have the wrong name, please let me know and I will correct it at once.

I look forward to doing this again, but on a much larger scale!!

Yeah Mike, your camera and you really take nice pictures. Did you do any of the little videos you were going to do?

Download the Quicktime player (http://www.quicktime.com) and it should play these for you.

It also helps to have the latest version of media player.

Just call me "Donnatello"

Hey Ron, I was the first one to arrive at the brew pub who completed the lap!

And of course it was all by chance. Going down the street to the brew pub we had to slow down to go through this big ditch of water (WTF?) and of course the blond stalled like a thirsty horse.

I saw it coming, not like some people. You could tell which ones didnt slow down for it because the front of their car was all wet on the hood. Bernie hit it too fast and so did Ron. I watched the car in front of me and knew it was going to be a bad one.

It's neither.

It's little guys, dressed in kilts, singing Village People songs.

We went slowly through the puddle, then some f'ing kids went barreling through it right next to us and splashed water all over and inside the car and us. FUN! BAS%^$&s.

Don't want to get behind a 912 next time? All I have heard since we started was I drove too fast! Oh, wait a minute, you mean that metallic brown 912E. Yeah, I heard stories about that one already....

Awful sorry about the water in Temecula. I slowed way down to keep from soaking the two Harley's next to me. Then we got in a drag race with them. I won

It was my wife that decided to group the cars by fruit. I was ROTFLMAO when I read James' (aka Red-Beard) post about it.

Even with the missed and wrong turns (Mikester), we all made it to the Beer and Wine Garden in one piece. Once the group broke up after the first turnoff, I was afraid someone might have mis-judged a corner. Like I said in the driver's meeting, that's no road to mess up on. I could only see two cars back due to the curves so I had no idea who was where. At least is sounds like everyone enjoyed the "Adventure". Next time, I will recruit volunteers to run the route with me before the group run so more people will know where we are going.

"Pappy" aka Ron, you did a great job getting the information out to this list. If the 914's hadn't shown up, the 4 912's, 1 924, and 1 944Turbo probably wouldn't have had as much fun. Thanks for your participation and sorry we lost you behind that one 912E.
