Not a Bus trans, that's for sure!!

The engine number is in the right range for a 72 or 73 1.7 engine, though as Tuna's site shows it was also used in some other applications. Same specs, though, and the same parts in all applications. (Well, in some of the VW-badged applications, the oil filler and dipstick are in a different location... And the engine tin and exhaust are different.)
