So what, this going to be a bi-annual trip?

very~worn~944 06-29-2003 10:52 PM

Ok...I have Chris' pics here...but the site is goofy right now...and you can't click to enlarge...it will be fixed tomarrow. But yea...GREAT PICS EVERYONE! http://members.tripod.com/hicracky11/porsche.club.of.mexico.htm

red-beard 06-30-2003 03:59 AM

At least Bi-annual. Maybe more. Ron and I were talking about either late August or Early September for the next on.

And I will conceed the most reliable 914 to Mike, since the Blond only logged about 1/2 what he did.

I will accept the "Loudest of the Bunch Award"

And the Car isn't that quiet either.....:p

Great Pictures Mike. It makes me even more sad that I could not make it. I will make sure I have something to drive next time. I am going to get both of them running so if one cant make it the other one can. After the bolt broke on the flywheel I gave up for the night. When I went back out in the morning there was a huge puddle of oil on the ground under the front of the engine. I have not even touched it since. I am in such disgust right now I cannot even bring myself to work on the stupid thing. I am thinking about taking to a Porsche mechanic and just say "Here, fix it". I came down with a really bad cold on Sunday and I still have it now. I will go to the next event for sure.

mikester 06-30-2003 12:37 PM

Yeah, Scott, just take it easy - it'll be fine.

Looked at my wheels when I got to the office today - 3 of them have cracks.

Crap.

Jared at Pelican Parts 06-30-2003 01:35 PM

I dont think I'd have the courage to take my old 914 to Mexico. You guys are beyond hard core. You guys are nard core.

skline 06-30-2003 06:12 PM

How do Fuch wheels crack?? I thought forged wheels would never crack under normal driving conditions. What did you do????

mikester 06-30-2003 06:24 PM

I dunno man, I'm a friggin granny compared to the way these other guys drive (read: red-beard/mike8675309)

Ron Meier 06-30-2003 06:46 PM

Mike, you didn't hit anything or really bend it hard - are you sure they weren't there before? Are they real ****s, Uh I mean Fuchs?

Red Beard is a wuss - I saw him hit the brakes where Mike & Jewel screamed on thru (Ok James, you get to try me out next time and you know I'm not afraid to wreck, except in a Honda - that would be embarrasing).

red-beard 06-30-2003 06:46 PM

Mike - HEY! I resemble that remark....

Ron - You're on! But you have to understand, I only hit the brakes to avoid running over Mike and Noel.... :p

It's funny, when I went to pick up the car, the guy went ballistic when he saw the dent. It was all factored into the price. I need to open the door panel anyway and pop it out from the inside. I just haven't had a chance yet...Mechanical before beauty...

And my plan is to send the car to TJ for repainting and body work...

And yeah - it was a blast!

Oh man that looks like a fun drive :-)

red-beard 07-01-2003 01:17 PM

Oh, you could do the same thing. Get a bunch of the local guys to drive through SouthEast in 914s at breakneck speeds.....

Of course they don't have "Papas and Beer" in SouthEast. You have to settle for Po Boy's and Forty's

James

mikester 07-01-2003 02:11 PM

It was a complete blast.

Ron Meier 07-01-2003 02:27 PM

An' dey had dem Suthrn State Troopers dat wear da funny hats, talk wit da muths fulla mush, take deys hans ouuta deys pants emn pull their gun - shoot first - Lotsa bodies in dem trees - spitooooooo - dat nonebody kews 'bout.

red-beard 07-01-2003 04:51 PM

Ron - think "Compton". The cops don't go there...

You may have to worry about gun fire, but it ain't the cops...

James
