Headlight switch wires
1975 914. What are the 4 wires on pin 56a of the headlight switch rheostat connected too? One wire connects to the dash lights, but what about the other 3 black/blue stripe wires? Thanks.

I don't see a "56a" terminal on the headlight switch in the 75 wiring diagram. There's a "56", and a "58a", but not a "56a". I don't know if this is an issue with your switch or with the diagram, though.
All of the black/blue wires send power out to the instrument lights. A red/white wire could be an input from elsewhere in the headlight circuit, or it could be the output for the main power going to the headlight high/low beam relay. --DD

You are correct, 58a.of the 4 wires, only one is connected to the 6 dash lights in series. What is connected to the other 3?

One goes to the three center console gauge illumination lights. One goes to the "temperature control illumination light". One goes to the turn signal switch; I'm not sure what for exactly. One goes to the "heater control assembly illumination lights". The temp control one might be at the base of the "DEFROST" lever, while the heater control ones are probably in the slider assembly in the dash.
