914-6 engines

I have a friend who has three original 914-6 engines for sale two are long blocks and on is a long block with carbs. I hope I'm saying that right...long block being block with internal parts and heads...anyhow you can email me at ronniejcarr@yahoo.com and I will email you his contact information. Yes the engines do turn freely and he is a Porsche mechanic.

I was really contemplating buying one and making my 4 a 6 but decided to keep mine as original as possible. I was amazed to see he had these and will glad to see folks match them up if possible or at least get a number close for their cars.

Carquip in Boulder, CO has 3 or 4 original 914-6 blocks in their inventory. Call them at 303-443-1343 and ask Glenn at x1 to get you the numbers on them. Someone might find their lost longblock.

I have sent Glenn at Carquip an e-mail asking for the serial numbers of their 914-6 engines. I will post them when I get them. I will keep my fingers crossed that one of them is mine. Kind of like playing the lottery though....

So I called and spoke with Glenn at Carquip to see if by chance one of their three 914-6 engines might be one from my car. Well I didn't get lucky but maybe you will; here are the three engines they have available:

#6404412 - engine case only $650

#6405274 - Long block $3,500

#6405289 - engine case only $750

I have no connection with Carquip, Glenn, etc., I was just trying to locate my engine. Hopefully someone will find their long lost engine.

i recently sold an original unmolested long block type 901/36 ('71 914-6 oem numbers) for $500.. I believe it was in running condition when removed and it had tight chains. and I know of another one locally that sold for $700 a few months ago. I kept the webers, alt/fan and oil cooler - they are all now for sale so watch for them to be listed.
