Does this sound like a Scam? Throttle Body

Check this out, I found this on E-Bay. Hopefully the link that I attached works (first time)

This is for a bored out throttle body. Advertisement states that everyone on the track is using them.

Any Thoughts from the Experts here?

Hey, it worked! One more thing, I noticed there are no bids. Maybe that's because the price is a little steep?

The amount an engine will suck air is dependent upon:
1. Diameter at butterfly
2. Intake tract diameter and configuration
3. Porting of heads for flow (both intake and exhaust)
4. Size of valves
5. Characteristics of combustion chamber
6. Cam profile
7. Cam timing
8. Stroke
9. Bore
10. Exhaust system diameter and configuration

Study up on volumetric effeciency of engines.

Uhhhh...... putting a bigger hole in the initial intake prolly won't do much except empty your wallet. The money they want for this monstrosity is better spent on driving lessons or suspension upgrades - far more bang for the buck. It goes along with the "billet" injector rails.

Check out this page and see for yourself what an engineer has to say about it.

Also check out:

You will need to screw around with fuel pressure and MPS settings and then you need to get used to some interesting off-idle performance issues, etc.

Of course you need to make the whole package breath better too. Bolt on a header too. But I think the driveability off idle is going to take a hit.

Head work and cam work would be nice, but then kiss the FI goodbye.

I had one done for $75 locally, to a 50mm TB. Big difference? NO. I later talked to a someone who has dynoed to see if it makes any difference and the results are about 1-2hp.
I didn't have to fool with the MPS and a/f mix at all. I can't say its a waste like the billet fuel lines but $295 is a sway bar or Tbars, lots of other goodies!
