Question Decel Valve --- Where is it mounted?

Considering that I've owned this car for about 5 years, this is really going to sound stupid, BUT where is the deceleration valve supposed to be mounted. Mine had been just sort of tucked away, but when I replaced my fuel lines I moved hoses around and found that it was just dangling. There's a mounting bracket on the valve, but I don't see any particular place to mount it.

Thanks for the help.

Howard

It's mounted on the MPS bracket using one of the fasteners securing the MPS.

On a similar note. what the hell do you plug into the DECEL valve / from where etc? Like Howard, mine was just dangling and only one hose plugged into it. I've heard its not really necessary but want to do it right if I can.

Thanks,

On the '75 2.0s...one larger connection on the top side of the air filter housing and then there is two (one small, one big) on the air plenums side just under where the MPS hose connects.

Other years better check the schematics on this site.

Eric:

First ----- Thanks for the reply. I wondered if that was where it was supposed to be mounted, but the body of the MPS seemed to interfere. Now that I know that it's the right spot, I'll figure out which screw to use.

Second --- Holy *****. Nice engine. Everything really looks great. Maybe someday.

Thanks. That's an old photo when it was pretty ratty. Here's a more recent photo plus you can just see the decel valve at the bottom of the photo.

Eric,

Thanks for the pictures! Well, that explains the gaping hole that I have in my air cleaner box!
